Cinnamon Velifushi operates primarily as an all-inclusive resort with tiered options. The Standard All-Inclusive covers buffet meals, house spirits, cocktails, and activities. Upgrade to Premium All-Inclusive for international premium brands, complimentary excursions, a beach dinner, and Mandara Spa treatment. No half-board or B&B options — all-inclusive is the default.

Your Days on the Island

Cinnamon Velifushi sits in the heart of the Vaavu Atoll — one of the Maldives' least-developed atolls with pristine dive sites and abundant marine life. The house reef is the star, but the resort also offers a professional dive centre (Dive & Sail), Mandara Spa, water sports, and a strong excursion programme including dolphin watching, sunset cruises, and sandbank picnics. Land-based activities include a gym, volleyball, futsal, and a soundproofed nightlife bar.

House Reef & Underwater

Cinnamon Velifushi's house reef is one of the strongest features of the resort — vibrant coral recovering well, abundant marine life, and the rare advantage of reef-edge water villas with step-off snorkeling. The Vaavu Atoll is one of the Maldives' least-developed atolls, and the reef benefits from low human impact. Nurse sharks are regular visitors, turtles graze on the reef, and the variety of tropical fish is impressive. The dive centre provides access to 50+ sites in the atoll, including the Vaavu Shipwreck. Snorkeling gear is available for free from the dive centre.

Transfer from Malé

Cinnamon Velifushi is located in the Vaavu Atoll, approximately 67 km (42 miles) south of Male. Two transfer options are available: a 25-minute scenic seaplane flight (daytime only, 6 AM–5:30 PM) or a 75-minute speedboat ride that operates around the clock. The speedboat is the more affordable option and works for late arrivals; the seaplane is faster and offers stunning aerial views of the atolls.

Who This Resort is For

Cinnamon Velifushi delivers genuine five-star finishes — Italian design, overwater Mandara Spa, reef-edge water villas — without ultra-luxury pricing. The house reef is excellent, the Vaavu Atoll location means uncrowded dive sites, and the all-inclusive package is generous. Not flawless: beach villas are compact, some overwater decking shows wear, and service can fall short of five-star expectations. But for reef quality, villa design, and all-inclusive value, Velifushi is one of the stronger mid-priced five-stars in the Maldives.
