Fish life is plentiful with blacktip reef sharks, eagle rays, and colourful tropical species regularly spotted. Coral restoration work is ongoing, and the reef is recovering well. Access requires some confidence in the water as it’s not a gentle walk-in lagoon. The real marine highlight is Hanifaru Bay — a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve 45 minutes away — one of the world’s premier manta ray gathering sites (seasonal June–November). The PADI dive centre offers courses, guided dives, and a free introductory dive for 3+ night stays.

Transfer from Malé
Heritance Aarah is in Raa Atoll, around 130 km north of Malé. The most popular transfer is a scenic 40-minute seaplane flight. Alternatively, a domestic flight to Ifuru Airport (35 min) followed by a speedboat (20 min) is available and works for late arrivals when seaplanes aren’t flying. Both options depart from Velana International Airport.
