IHG One Rewards at the Maldives Resorts
IHG One Rewards is IHG's loyalty programme — rebranded from IHG Rewards Club in April 2022. Members earn 10 base points per US$1 on qualifying spend (plus a tier bonus of 20–100%), and all three Maldives resorts are full points-earning IHG hotels.
Redemption is fully dynamic — there is no award chart. The points cost of a free night floats with the cash rate, so high-season villa nights at InterContinental and Noku run very high. The realistic sweet spot is Holiday Inn Resort Kandooma: the lowest cash rates of the three plus a speedboat transfer (no separate seaplane to pay) make a points night genuinely attainable rather than aspirational.
The 4th-night-free benefit is the headline play. The IHG One Rewards Premier, Premier Business and Traveler credit cards give every 4th night free on a points stay of four or more consecutive nights at the same hotel. Maldives trips are usually 4–7 nights, so this stacks neatly — most powerfully at the points-attainable Kandooma. It must be a pure points booking (not Points + Cash).
Elite recognition is resort-discretion. At InterContinental Maamunagau and Noku, Diamond Elite members get complimentary breakfast for two when chosen as the welcome amenity (specialty restaurants and room service excluded). Platinum gets a points or drink amenity, not breakfast, and upgrades at all tiers are availability-gated and rarely jump villa categories. Note that Maamunagau is the world's only all-Club InterContinental resort — so every guest, elite or not, already receives Club InterContinental breakfast, afternoon tea and an evening aperitif hour.
The Six Senses caveat. IHG also owns Six Senses Laamu and Kanuhura, which earn and redeem IHG One Rewards points — but Six Senses runs its own service model, and the standard IHG elite on-property perks (free breakfast, upgrades, welcome amenity) do not extend there the usual way.
