CROSSROADS Maldives extends SO/'s activity range well beyond a typical single-island resort. Best Dives runs PADI courses from the on-site center, The Zone delivers motorized and hydro-flight water sports, and the marina connects to a Marine Discovery Centre, nightclub, and 14+ restaurants across neighbouring islands.

Family-Friendly Features

SO/ Maldives covers both age brackets: The Nest for 4–11-year-olds (free, daily) and The Zone for teens 12–16. The Family Beach Pool Villa with Capsule gives kids their own bunk space. CROSSROADS Marina extends entertainment beyond the island, and the 15-minute speedboat transfer avoids seaplane stress. Under-4s stay free; ages 4–12 at $125/night.

House Reef & Underwater

SO/ Maldives sits on a man-made island within Emboodhoo Lagoon, so the house reef is limited compared to natural Maldivian islands. That said, guests report baby reef sharks, stingrays, eagle rays, and nurse sharks in the lagoon — the calm, shallow waters make it accessible for beginners. For serious snorkeling and diving, guided excursions to South Malé Atoll's outer reefs are the better option. The CROSSROADS Marine Discovery Centre adds an educational angle with coral propagation and marine biology exhibits.

Who This Resort is For

SO/ Maldives occupies a niche no other Maldives resort quite fills: a design-led Ennismore property within a connected multi-island development, 15 minutes from the airport. The all-pool villa lineup, Hadaba's overwater Levantine dining, and CROSSROADS Marina access give it genuine breadth. The trade-off is an artificial island with a limited house reef and a less secluded feel than traditional single-island resorts.
