Your Days on the Island

The Baa Atoll UNESCO Biosphere Reserve is the foundation — manta rays on the house reef, Hanifaru Bay minutes away, and a Marine Discovery Centre running coral propagation programmes. AyurMa is a destination-grade Ayurvedic wellness centre with 30+ resident specialists. Add a 50-metre infinity pool, PADI Career Development Centre, and dedicated kids and teen clubs, and the activity roster matches the island's scale.

Family-Friendly Features

Kuda Velaa kids club runs marine biology workshops, coral art projects, and snorkeling safaris for ages 4-12. Majaa Maizan teen centre keeps older children engaged with water sports and evening socials. Family Water Villas have no minimum age restriction. The 2 km shallow lagoon is safe for young swimmers, and the Marine Discovery Centre makes learning about ocean conservation genuinely exciting.

House Reef & Underwater

Inside the UNESCO Baa Atoll Biosphere Reserve, the house reef at Four Seasons Landaa wraps a 2 km lagoon with shore entry access. Manta rays visit the house reef year-round — the resort's Manta-on-Call phone system alerts guests the moment one appears. Lemon sharks, reef sharks, turtles, and dolphins are reliably present. The Marine Discovery Centre runs an active coral propagation programme in partnership with the Manta Trust. Hanifaru Bay — the world's largest manta ray aggregation site — is a short boat ride away, with peak season June to November.

PADI dive center on-site. Night snorkeling available. Marine life observations sourced from dive logs and guest reports.

Transfer from Malé

35-minute seaplane from Velana International Airport via TMA to the Baa Atoll. A private Four Seasons seaplane (Flying Triggerfish) is also available. Seaplanes operate daylight hours only — arrive in Male by 3 PM for same-day transfer.

Who This Resort is For

Four Seasons Landaa Giraavaru is the Maldives' strongest marine-life resort at the ultra-luxury level. The combination of manta rays on the house reef, a UNESCO Biosphere location, resident marine biologists, and a destination-grade Ayurvedic wellness centre is unmatched. The 44-acre island gives 103 villas genuine breathing room. It costs accordingly — but guests who value wildlife encounters and holistic wellness over nightlife and all-inclusive packages will find nothing comparable.
