Komandoo Island Resort

2 Restaurants & 2 Bars

Four venues for 65 villas is a generous ratio. Falhu handles all buffet meals with themed nights, Aqua is the overwater fine dining option, and two bars round out the social scene. Guests can also book the 5.8 Undersea Restaurant at sister resort Hurawalhi.

Dining Inclusions

Komandoo is all-inclusive only — no half board or room-only option. This keeps things simple and removes the need to think about bills. A Gold upgrade sits above the standard plan.

Meal plan prices are a guide only — generally an average across the year. Resorts can change them at any time, they often vary by season, and a plan sold in one season may not be offered in another. We'll confirm what's available and the exact price for your dates.

Your Days on the Island

Komandoo keeps it simple — the reef and the ocean are the main attractions. There's a solid dive centre, good snorkelling from shore, and enough to fill a week without ever feeling like you need to do anything at all.

House Reef & Underwater

Komandoo's house reef is one of its strongest selling points — a marine biologist documented 265 species without ever diving, and repeat guests have photographed 113 species in a single year. The reef wraps most of the island with easy shore entry and consistent marine life. Nearby Fushivaru is home to the largest known aggregation of juvenile manta rays in the Maldives.

PADI dive center on-site. Night snorkeling available. Marine life observations sourced from dive logs and guest reports.

Transfer from Malé

Komandoo is in Lhaviyani Atoll — a straightforward 40-minute seaplane from Malé. It shares the atoll with Kuredu and Hurawalhi.

Who This Resort is For

Reviewed by Tym Lewtak, founder of LuxAtolls ·Updated Sep 27, 2026

Komandoo does one thing brilliantly: it gives you a small, quiet island with an excellent reef and absolutely no pressure to do anything. It's not the newest, not the most luxurious, and not trying to be. For couples who want genuine Maldives escapism without the mega-resort circus, it's hard to beat.
