House Reef & Underwater

Le Méridien's house reef is a genuine highlight — ornate eagle rays cruising through seagrass beds, green turtles on virtually every snorkel, and blacktip reef sharks patrolling the drop-off. The reef wraps around much of the island with easy shore entry from both the beach and overwater villa steps. Coral health is strong for a resort opened in 2021, benefiting from Lhaviyani's nutrient-rich channels. Sub Oceanic's marine biologist leads weekly reef ecology talks and coordinates a coral restoration programme. Night snorkeling reveals nurse sharks and bioluminescent plankton.

Transfer from Malé

Le Méridien is in Lhaviyani Atoll, about 130 km north of Malé. The only transfer option is a scenic 35-minute seaplane flight operated by Trans Maldivian Airways. Seaplanes operate daylight hours only — arrivals after approximately 3:30 pm require an airport overnight or domestic flight arrangement. We handle all transfer logistics.
