Track the lagoon through your glass-floor panel, dine teppanyaki over water, and uncork from 260 wine labels — 45 minutes into Noonu, on one of the Maldives' most photogenic overwater jetties.
5-Star Resort Seaplane 45 min 105 Villas House Reef
Noonu's most photogenic 5-star — the 72 overwater villas form a distinctive V-shaped jetty visible from seaplanes on approach. All 105 villas have glass-floor panels or private pools, and the OAK Lounge holds 260 wine labels. Transitioned from Mövenpick to Kuredhivaru Resort & Spa in Jan 2025; Mondrian Maldives is Accor's flagged next identity.
105 villas split across 6 categories — 72 overwater (three orientations: Lagoon, Sunrise, Ocean), 30 beach (Deluxe and Sunset), and 3 three-bedroom residences. Every overwater category has a private plunge or infinity pool and glass-floor panels for reef-gazing without getting wet. Beach Pool Villas at 190 sqm are larger than most 5-star overwater alternatives.

Family-Friendly Features
Kuredhivaru's family pitch is one of Noonu's strongest — Little Birds Club has a dedicated kids' pool, and the child age cutoff runs higher than most peers. Young Gourmet Menu at Bodumas and Latitude 5.5 covers the older kids; the Power Bite kids' menu handles everyone else. The programme leans practical — coconut-leaf folding, crab hunting, cooking classes with a local twist — not screen-time or theme-park theatrics.

Kuredhivaru's house reef has two designated entry points — the dive-centre jetty (all-day access) and an overwater-villa jetty (high-tide only). Marine life is abundant near the dive centre with turtles, reef sharks, and eagle rays routinely encountered. Some 2024 guest reviews flagged thinner coverage directly outside certain Overwater Pool Villa Ocean positions, but the wider reef is healthy and the dive programme extends to 40+ Noonu sites within a short boat ride.

Our Take
Who This Resort is For
Reviewed by Tym Lewtak, founder of LuxAtolls·Updated Sep 27, 2026
Kuredhivaru is in an awkward branding moment — Mövenpick-era assets still dominate Google search while Accor preps a Mondrian relaunch. But the product itself is very strong: one of Noonu's most photogenic overwater arrangements, a seriously committed wine cellar, an overwater Japanese programme with a named chef, and a kids-free-up-to-16 policy that the family market hasn't fully priced in yet. For couples with kids between 12 and 16 specifically, there may be no better value at the 5-star tier right now.
Ideal for
Overwater villa enthusiasts — the V-shaped jetty with 72 overwater villas is one of the Maldives' most photogenic, and every overwater category has glass-floor panels for reef-gazing from bed
Families willing to travel — Little Birds Club has a dedicated kids' pool, and the Luxury All-Inclusive handles the premium-dining upgrade for adults
Wine and food travellers — Oak Lounge's 260-label cellar and Bodumas's Chef Komang-led Japanese programme are two of the strongest individual dining draws in Noonu
Sustainability-minded guests — 900+ solar panels, on-site desalination, ~300,000 plastic bottles eliminated annually; Green Globe certified
Consider elsewhere if
Guests who need short transfers — 45-minute seaplane is one of the longer northern routes and daylight-only, so late arrivals will overnight in Malé
Snorkellers expecting 'aquarium-right-off-the-villa' — house reef quality is uneven by villa position; dive-centre jetty is strong but Overwater Pool Villa Ocean guests have reported thin coverage
Brand purists — the property rebranded from Mövenpick January 2025 and is transitioning toward Mondrian Maldives under Accor's Ennismore collection; signage and service patterns are in flux

Frequently Asked Questions
Kuredhivaru Resort and Spa — FAQ
Is Mövenpick Kuredhivaru still a Mövenpick?
No — on 1 January 2025 the property transitioned to an interim 'Kuredhivaru Resort and Spa' identity under Accor's Luxury Lifestyle portfolio, en route to becoming Mondrian Maldives under the Ennismore collection. Rates, inclusions, and Accor loyalty benefits remain in place during transition.
How do you get to Kuredhivaru Maldives?
Scenic 45-minute seaplane from Velana International Airport with TMA to the resort's private arrival jetty. Return transfers are approximately US$675 per adult and $435 per child (ages 2–11), with pre-boarding at the Noovilu Seaplane Terminal including complimentary refreshments.
What's the house reef like at Kuredhivaru?
Two designated entry points — a dive-centre jetty (all-day access) and an overwater-villa jetty (high-tide only). Guests report abundant marine life including turtles and reef sharks near the dive centre, though the reef directly outside certain Overwater Pool Villa Ocean positions can be less densely populated.
Is Kuredhivaru family-friendly or adults-only?
Family-friendly. Little Birds Club has a dedicated kids' pool, and child rates on the parents' meal plan run to an unusually generous age cap — we confirm the exact terms with your quote. Under-12s in overwater villas need a parental disclaimer.
How many meal plans does Kuredhivaru offer?
Five tiers: Bed & Breakfast, Deluxe Half Board, Deluxe Full Board, All-Inclusive, and Luxury All-Inclusive.
