OZEN LIFE MAADHOO 2026 — Underwater Dining & All-Inclusive

Opened 2016

Formerly OZEN by Atmosphere at Maadhoo, redesigned and rebranded in 2021. The draw is luxury all-inclusive done properly, built around the INDULGENCE™ plan and the underwater M6m. A 45-minute speedboat from Malé, it trades a house reef for an unusually complete bill.

Dining

5 Restaurants & 3 Bars

OZEN LIFE MAADHOO is built around its all-inclusive dine-around, the INDULGENCE™ plan, and the underwater M6m is its signature room. The Palms anchors all-day dining; LONU reinvents Maldivian cuisine; the Tradition pair serves Indo-Ceylonese and authentic Chinese. Premium champagne, 80-plus wine labels and aged whiskies pour across the bars — including the adults-only Gin Is In. A weekly Grand Indian Ocean Gala adds Maldivian entertainment.

M6m — Minus Six Metres

Seafood Fine Dining

The signature table — six metres down, with curved glass framing reef fish, rays and the odd shark as you eat. Modern seafood fine dining under Executive Chef Alok Verma, served at lunch and dinner. Pre-booking essential.

SettingUnderwater restaurant six metres below the lagoon, glass walls framing live marine life.

Our tipBook the first dinner seating — the underwater light at dusk is the point

The Palms

World Cuisine

The culinary heart of the island — champagne breakfasts, à la carte lunches and theme-night dinners with live cooking. Buffet and à la carte run side by side. The everyday venue most guests default to between specialty dinners.

SettingMain all-day restaurant with live cooking stations and themed evenings.

Our tipChampagne is on pour at breakfast — start the day with a glass on the terrace

LONU

Maldivian

Named for the Dhivehi word for salt, LONU gives Maldivian cooking a contemporary, inventive treatment — the most genuinely local food on the island. A lunch concept that's a welcome change from international buffets. Reservations recommended.

SettingSignature lunch venue celebrating reinvented island cuisine by the lagoon.

Our tipOrder the reef-fish curry — the Maldivian dishes are the real differentiator

Tradition IndoCeylon

Indian & Sri Lankan

A fusion of Indian and Sri Lankan kitchens in a relaxed beach-club setting — fragrant curries, tandoor and Ceylonese spice by the water. One of the island's signature dinner experiences, and a strong pick for anyone who loves bold South Asian flavour. Reservations recommended.

SettingSeaside beach-club venue serving spice-forward Indian and Sri Lankan dishes.

Our tipAsk for a beachside table at sunset — the spread pairs beautifully with the view

Tradition Peking

Chinese

The island's authentic Chinese table — Peking duck, dim sum and regional classics in an intimate signature setting. It rounds out a genuinely varied dine-around that few all-inclusive resorts match. Reservations recommended as covers are limited.

SettingIntimate signature dinner venue serving authentic Chinese cuisine.

Our tipReserve early — seats are limited and it books out fastest of the specialties

Joie de Vivre

Pool Bar & Pizzeria

The casual poolside default — wood-fired pizzas, salads and light plates from late morning to evening, with cocktails, beers and soft drinks. The easy lunch-and-a-drink spot between swims, no reservation needed.

SettingPoolside all-day bar and pizzeria with casual lagoon-view seating.

Our tipBest casual lunch on the island — grab a lounger and a cold beer

Gin Is In

Gin Bar

An adults-only hideaway (18+) built around a deep gin list, from rare botanicals to classic G&Ts. A grown-up corner away from the family pool, ideal for a sundowner before a specialty dinner.

SettingAdults-only gin bar (18+) for rare pours and sundowners.

Our tipArrive at sunset and ask for a flight around a botanical you don't know

Hudhu Bay

Sunset Beach Club

The sunset address — a white-sand beach club for cocktails, snacks and occasional crab dinners as the sky turns. It is the natural pre-dinner gathering spot. Toes in the sand, glass in hand.

SettingWhite-sand beach club on the western shore for sunset drinks and snacks.

Our tipGrab a beanbag before sunset — this is the best light on the island

Experiences & Activities

Your Days on the Island

Activity at OZEN LIFE MAADHOO is central to the island's pitch. The Dolphin Base dive centre runs PADI courses and excursions; twice-daily snorkel shuttles ferry guests to nearby reefs; and the over-water ELE|NA spa handles wellness. Non-motorised water sports, floodlit tennis and a gym round it out, while the OZEN Kids' Club keeps younger guests busy.

Snorkelling via twice-daily shuttles. Like most South Malé islands, Maadhoo has no swimmable house reef off the villas — so OZEN runs two complimentary snorkel-shuttle trips daily (roughly 09:30 and 15:00) to nearby reefs. They're well regarded, turning up reef fish, turtles and black-tip reef sharks. Combined with the Dolphin Base dive centre and strong regional dive sites, it makes a credible base for getting in the water — just by boat rather than straight off your deck.

Very Good House Reef

Lux Atolls Reef Score · good via boat for the Maldives

No direct house reef · Two complimentary snorkel shuttles daily to nearby reefs

Reef fish · Turtles · Black-tip reef sharks · Glass-floor arrival jetty

Be clear on this before booking: OZEN LIFE MAADHOO has no swimmable house reef directly off the villas — like most South Malé islands, the lagoon edge sits some distance away. The resort's answer is two complimentary snorkel-shuttle trips daily (roughly 09:30 and 15:00) to nearby reefs, which are well regarded and turn up reef fish, turtles and black-tip reef sharks. The glass-floor arrival jetty teases with baby sharks and rays in the shallows. The Dolphin Base dive centre and strong regional channel and thila sites make a credible diving base. We rate it good not exceptional: the best snorkelling is by shuttle, not off your deck.

PADI dive center on-site. Night snorkeling available. Marine life observations sourced from dive logs and guest reports.

Our Take

Who This Resort is For

Reviewed by Tym Lewtak, founder of LuxAtolls Updated Sep 27, 2026

Ideal for

All-inclusive seekers — the INDULGENCE™ plan is the single board basis sold here
Underwater-dining bucket-listers — M6m sits six metres below the lagoon at the heart of the resort's single board basis
Couples and honeymooners — overwater Wind Villas, the adults-only Gin Is In, and the over-water ELE|NA spa make for a romantic, low-admin escape
Families — OZEN Kids' Club, a two-bedroom Earth Pool Pavilion, and a Wind Villa with a waterslide straight into the lagoon
Easy-access travellers — a 45-minute speedboat (complimentary, day or night) means no seaplane wait and no overnight in Malé

Consider elsewhere if

House-reef snorkelers — there's no swimmable reef off the villas; the good snorkelling is by complimentary shuttle, not straight from your deck
Budget travellers — at around $1,148/night all-inclusive this is firmly premium, even if the plan's breadth softens the headline rate
Remote-escape seekers — South Malé is close to the airport and the wider atoll, not a far-flung outpost
Buffet purists — dining leans à la carte and specialty rather than one big international buffet

Frequently Asked Questions

OZEN LIFE MAADHOO — FAQ

Is OZEN LIFE MAADHOO's all-inclusive worth it, and what's included?

Yes — the INDULGENCE™ plan is the resort's entire selling proposition, built as a dine-around across all five restaurants with the underwater M6m as its signature venue. It is the only board basis OZEN LIFE sells.

How do you get to OZEN LIFE MAADHOO?

A roughly 45-minute luxury speedboat from Velana International Airport in Malé. Transfers run day and night, so there's no seaplane wait and no overnight in Malé regardless of your flight time. A private OZEN COLLECTION airport lounge is provided before departure.

Is dinner at the underwater M6m restaurant included?

M6m — Minus Six Metres sits six metres below the lagoon with glass walls onto live marine life, serving modern seafood at lunch and dinner. Pre-booking is essential as covers are limited.

Does OZEN LIFE MAADHOO have a house reef for snorkelling?

Not directly off the villas — like most South Malé islands, there's no swimmable house reef at the lagoon edge. Instead, the resort runs two complimentary snorkel-shuttle trips daily to nearby reefs, which are well regarded for reef fish, turtles and black-tip reef sharks. The glass-floor arrival jetty offers a taste of the marine life on the way in.

Is OZEN LIFE MAADHOO good for families?

Yes — it's family-friendly rather than adults-only. There's the OZEN Kids' Club, a two-bedroom Earth Pool Pavilion for families, and a Wind Villa with a waterslide straight into the lagoon. The all-inclusive plan removes bill anxiety across the restaurants, and babysitting can be arranged. Couples-focused spots like the adults-only Gin Is In keep the balance.
