Sun Siyam Olhuveli Maldives Review 2026

Opened 1997 · Renovated 2025

Sun Siyam Olhuveli hits a sweet spot — genuine quality without the luxury markup. Three connected islands mean space and variety rather than one strip of sand. Eight restaurants, the Maldives' longest pool, and a dine-around all-inclusive put it ahead of most 4-star competitors. A 45-minute speedboat from Malé keeps transfer costs low.

Our Take

Who This Resort is For

Reviewed by Tym Lewtak, founder of LuxAtolls Updated Sep 27, 2026

Sun Siyam Olhuveli delivers remarkable breadth for a 4-star resort. Three connected islands, eight restaurants, six pools, and a dine-around all-inclusive make it one of the best value propositions in the Maldives. The 2025 renovation — including the country's longest pool — signals continued investment. It's not the place for quiet luxury or world-class snorkelling, but for families and value-conscious travellers who want variety and easy access, Olhuveli is hard to fault.

Ideal for

Families on a budget — five children's pools, a kids club, and two-bedroom residences up to 310 sqm make it one of the best value family options in the Maldives
All-inclusive seekers — the dine-around plan spans 8 restaurants, well above what most 4-star competitors offer
First-time Maldives visitors — a 45-minute speedboat from Malé keeps transfers simple and affordable, while the three-island layout provides enough variety to keep you exploring for a full week
Couples wanting the overwater experience without the luxury price — Grand Water Villas with Pool start around $550/night, a fraction of the 5-star equivalents

Consider elsewhere if

Luxury purists — at 328 villas across three islands, this is a large-scale operation with shared pools and buffet restaurants rather than intimate fine dining and butlers
Serious snorkellers — the house reef is decent but requires a swim from the jetty, and the reef quality doesn't compare to top-tier reefs at Hideaway Beach or Lily Beach
Privacy seekers — the resort is lively with DJs, live bands, and swim-up bars, and the three-island layout means more guests and more foot traffic than boutique alternatives
Adults-only travellers — while Romance Island is adults-only, the main and Dream islands cater heavily to families, and the overall atmosphere is family-oriented
