Direct flights from Milan
Neos is the only nonstop from northern Italy, flying a Boeing 787 from Malpensa through the winter season: weekly on Fridays in October, then on Mondays and Fridays from 26 October 2026. It is a night flight, leaving around 20:00–21:00 and landing in Malé between about 09:20 and 09:45, after about 9 h 20 to 9 h 30. The return takes half an hour to an hour longer because of the winds.

As a guide from October 2026, an economy return from Milan to Malé with one stop usually costs about €600 to €900, and Neos's nonstop about €790 to €1,100. BeOnd's business-only service starts at about €2,700 on its own website. August and the Christmas holidays are among the dearest times to fly. These are guide values, not offers: book a few months ahead, and earlier still for Christmas and Easter.
Tips for the journey
- Neos lands in Malé in the morning, comfortably in time for a seaplane. Seaplanes fly in daylight only, so on any routing aim to land by about 15:30 for a same-day seaplane transfer.
- Etihad via Abu Dhabi also flies from Malpensa, and flydubai's Bergamo–Dubai service, up to twice a day, connects on its own aircraft to Malé.
- Gulf flights were suspended and cut back during 2026, and schedules can still change at short notice. Book a connection on a single ticket, or avoid the Gulf hubs with the nonstop or Istanbul.
- The Maldives is four hours ahead of Italy in winter and three in summer; clocks go back on 25 October 2026.
