House Reef & Underwater

CROSSROADS sits on a man-made island in Emboodhoo Lagoon, so the house reef is artificial and limited compared to natural-island resorts. Coral restoration projects are underway, but snorkeling around the island is modest. The real marine life is on excursions — South Malé Atoll has solid dive sites within a short boat ride, and the Marine Discovery Centre at the Marina runs coral propagation programmes.
