Shoreline Grill delivers teppanyaki and a Wine Room. Compass and Azure bars round out a line-up rivalling resorts three times larger.

Ba'theli Lounge & Restaurant
Spice Route
A floating restaurant built on a traditional Maldivian ba'theli cargo boat — the only one of its kind in the Maldives. The Spice Route menu draws from centuries of Indian Ocean maritime trade, blending Maldivian, Indian, Sri Lankan, and Arabian flavours. The lounge below serves cocktails and tapas.

Your Days on the Island
Baa Atoll's UNESCO Biosphere Reserve location is the defining advantage. Hanifaru Bay — the world's largest manta aggregation — is 20 minutes away, with excursions three times weekly. The house reef encircles the island with resident turtles and nurse sharks. Ocean Stories runs a PADI 5-Star dive centre. The overwater Serenity Spa uses Natura Bisse products.

Island-encircling fringing reef. Milaidhoo's house reef is exceptional — a continuous fringing reef encircling the entire island with easy shore and villa-step access. Resident green turtles, nurse sharks, lemon sharks, eagle rays, and dense tropical fish populations make every snorkel rewarding. The reef's location in the Baa Atoll UNESCO Biosphere Reserve means outstanding coral health and biodiversity. Ocean Stories' marine biologist leads twice-daily guided snorkeling sessions.

Our Take
Who This Resort is For
Milaidhoo is a purist's Maldives resort — 50 all-pool villas on a tiny island encircled by one of the country's finest reefs. The Kurumba family brings decades of local expertise without corporate polish. The floating Ba'theli is one-of-a-kind, and Hanifaru Bay manta excursions justify choosing Baa Atoll alone. Age 8+ keeps things serene. No all-inclusive keeps food quality high. Competes with Soneva Fushi and Anantara Kihavah — Milaidhoo holds its own through intimacy and reef quality.
Ideal for
Couples and honeymooners — intimate 50-villa island, age 8+ policy, all-pool villas, destination dining on private sandbanks
Reef enthusiasts — a 9.0-rated house reef circling the entire island with resident turtles, nurse sharks, lemon sharks, and eagle rays
Manta ray seekers — Hanifaru Bay (world's largest aggregation, up to 200 mantas) is just 20 minutes away by boat
Divers — Ocean Stories PADI 5-Star centre with 30+ Baa Atoll dive sites, whale shark and manta excursions
Design-conscious travellers — warm Maldivian interiors with teak and rattan, floating ba'theli restaurant, SLH member
Consider elsewhere if
Families with young children — age 8+ policy, no kids club, no family-specific activities or splash parks
All-inclusive seekers — no AI plan available; drinks are charged separately at premium prices
Budget travellers — starting rates, seaplane transfers (~$628 pp RT), and à la carte dining make this a premium proposition
Party seekers — 50 villas and an age 8+ policy mean quiet evenings; this is a serene, contemplative island
