The lagoon itself is sandy and ideal for swimming and learning to snorkel, but the true coral reef is reached via short boat trip rather than direct shore entry. The Marine Discovery Centre runs guided snorkel sessions twice daily to the nearby Emboodhoo Caves and Cocoa Thila — both colour-rich reef formations within ten minutes by boat.
